Important Information
Size Brackets
Prices vary by your dog’s size. If you’re unsure which bracket your dog falls into, just get in touch and we’ll help. Mixed breeds and crossbreeds are priced based on their actual size, not their breed.
Matted Coats
If your dog’s coat is matted, we’ll always discuss your options before starting. In some cases, a shorter clip may be necessary for your dog’s comfort and safety. A matting surcharge may apply for the additional time required.
Puppies
Puppy grooms are available from 12 weeks of age, provided vaccinations are up to date. The first groom is a gentle introduction to the grooming process — we keep it short and positive to build confidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the breed and coat type. Most dogs with longer or curly coats benefit from a professional groom every 6 to 8 weeks. Short-coated breeds may only need a bath and tidy every 8 to 12 weeks. We'll recommend a schedule based on your dog's individual needs.
What happens if my dog's coat is matted?
We always prioritise your dog's comfort. If the coat is matted, we'll discuss your options before starting. Light tangles can usually be brushed out, but moderate to severe matting may require a shorter clip. This isn't a cosmetic choice — it's about preventing pain and skin damage. A matting surcharge may apply for the additional time required.
Can I stay during the groom?
We find that most dogs settle better without their owner present — they tend to perform for you! However, we completely understand if you'd prefer to stay, especially for a first visit. Just let us know and we'll accommodate you.
Where can I park?
There's free 2-hour parking on Ormond Place, just a 2-minute walk from the salon. Pay and display parking is available at Bath Road car park, about 5 minutes on foot. Blue badge holders can park directly outside on King Street.
What products do you use?
We use professional-grade, gentle shampoos and conditioners from trusted brands. All our products are pH-balanced for dogs and free from harsh chemicals. If your dog has sensitive skin or allergies, let us know and we'll use a hypoallergenic formula.
When can my puppy have their first groom?
We recommend bringing your puppy in from 12 weeks old, once they've had their second vaccination. The first groom is a gentle introduction — a short session focused on positive experiences rather than a full groom. Early visits build confidence for a lifetime of stress-free grooming.
How long does a groom take?
It depends on the service and your dog's size and coat condition. A full groom typically takes 60 to 120 minutes. A bath and dry is usually 40 to 75 minutes. We never rush — your dog gets our full attention for the entire appointment.
Do you groom all breeds?
Yes! We groom all breeds and crossbreeds, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. We're experienced with breed-specific cuts as well as practical maintenance clips. If you have an unusual breed, just get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss your requirements.
